WHAT THE TOYOTA DRIVERS ARE SAYING

The wraps will finally come off the new Toyota Gazoo Racing Hypercar on Friday 15 January 2021. In the meantime, the Japanese manufacturer is sharing its drivers’ impressions on social media. They tell us what they think about the new car and the dawn of a new era in Endurance racing:

José Maria Lopez: “I believe the fans are really going to enjoy this car.
Brendon Hartley: “The Hypercar is great to drive and equally it’s great to look at.
Kamui Kobayashi: “We never had such a project and we have to make the car really good.
Sébastien Buemi: “We’ve been waiting for these cars for a long time now.”

TWO PORSCHE 911 RSRs FOR TEAM PROJECT 1

For its third FIA WEC World Endurance Championship season, Team Project 1 is planning to enter two new Porsche 911 RSRs. After its triumph in the LMGTE Am class at the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, plus five podiums during its first season and third place in the FIA Endurance Trophy for GTE Am Teams, the German outfit has its eye firmly on the title in 2021. “As well as the fight for the title, another Le Mans win is very important for the team,” says team boss Axel Funke.

The entry list for the new season will be unveiled on 21 January 2021 at 12:21.

FIA WEC Season 9 will kick off on 13–14 March 2021 at Sebring (Florida) with the traditional pre-season test. Competitors will then battle it out at the 1000 Miles of Sebring, the first of six championship rounds, on Friday 19 March 2021.
