Fifteenth and sixteenth hours – Toyota and Porsche continue to do battle

As day breaks at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the race lead is still wide open. The #6 Toyota TS050 HYBRID with Conway/Kobayashi/Sarrazin still leads the race, but barely more than 20 seconds separate the top three! The leaders of the other three classes remain unchanged.

Behind Stéphane Sarrazin, the #5 Toyota regained second place while the #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid was in the pits for refuelling. The pit curtain has been lowered at the #13 Rebellion R-One garage. Mathéo Tuscher had to pull up on the Mulsanne Straight due to a fuel injection issue.

The #36 Alpine A460 still leads in LM P2, a class in which two drivers failed to keep their car on track: Léo Roussel at Mulsanne at 06:00 and Simon Dolan at the Ford Chicne twenty minutes later. The British driver of the #38 Gibson 015S managed to make it back to the pits but must have his left front suspension changed. Nelson Panciatici took advantage of the mishap to snatch fourth place in the #35 Alpine.

After a change of brake discs, Risi Competizione’s #82 Ferrari still leads in LM GTE Pro, but the #69 Ford GT has cut the gap considerably. These two hours of racing have also seen the official retirement of the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE while Tommy Milner (#64 Corvette) crashed into the tyre barrier at the Dunlop chicane.

In LM GTE Am, the #62 Ferrari and the #88 Porsche are still in the top two spots but the #83 Ferrari is now running third.
