H24Racing's first laps at the Portimão circuit in the Michelin Le Mans Cup

At the circuit in Portimão, Portugal where the final round of the 2019 European Le Mans Series season will take place on Sunday, the H24Racing team and LMPH2G prototype took part in the free practice sessions for the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Yesterday the car hit the track for one hour and executed refuelling stops in pit lane.

A little more than a month after its first appearance in a race setting on 20 September at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, during the Michelin Le Mans Cup free practice sessions, H24Racing and its hydrogen-electric LMPH2G prototype are once again hitting the track. This time it's at the Portimão circuit in Portugal for the final round of the 2019 European Le Mans Series season which will decide the champions in the various classes as well as the six invitees to the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans (13-14 June).

H24Racing and the LMPH2G will benefit from two one-hour sessions on the track. On Friday, the hydrogen-electric prototype driven by Norman Nato then Olivier Lombard completed 11 laps at the winding 4.653 km-circuit. Weather conditions were mild with a temperature of 17.78°C (track temp 22.11°C).

The team refuelled twice at the first mobile hydrogen station in motorsport, designed by Total. The structure, installed at the entrance to pit lane, allowed the prototype to refuel like any other racing car. The LMPH2G shared the track with eight 8 GT3s and 18 LMP3s participating in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
