In both 2010 and 2011, Peugeot was not the only French team to shine in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
Last year, Peugeot had dominated the first season of the ILMC in LM P1 prototypes, winning all three races of the calendar (Silverstone, Petit Le Mans and Zhuhai). As for the LM P2, another French team took the title: OAK Racing in the (now famous) black and pink prototypes. The 2010 ILMC also saw the last appearance of the LM GT1 category, where Larbre Competition took the title with the most distinctive GT of the past decade: the Saleen S7-R.
In 2011, Jack Leconte's team turned to LM GTE Am, with two cars: a Porsche and a Corvette, which has the official support of the American manufacturer. They were on track again for a season title, after a 1-2 finish in LM GTE Am at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year LM P2 has been dominated by Signatech Nissan. Unbeaten so far, the team of Philip Sinault aims to take the title of this category in his return to prototypes. Many brilliant results which highlight the excellence of the teams and drivers from the country which gave birth to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The fifth round of the ILMC 2011, 6 Hours of Silverstone will be held on the 11th of September. For more information, click here.
