Juan Pablo Montoya's seat fitted for United Autosports' Ligier ahead of Le Mans

In preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans at which he will debut in June, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya had his seat customized in United Autosports' Ligier JS P217 at Monza in Italy.

The day after the 4 Hours of Monza, second round of the 2018 European Le Mans Series season in which the Anglo-American team is competing, United Autosports welcomed another driver into its ranks at the Italian circuit: Juan Pablo Montoya, arriving to customize his seat for his participation in the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

After several years spent in the American stock car championship NASCAR, the 42-year-old Colombian will try for the win at Le Mans even though his chances in the overall are negligible given he is competing in the LMP2 class. Juan Pablo Montoya is the only active driver able to attempt to match the record of Graham Hill, the sole driver to have won the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco, the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. On the other hand, he has never been crowned F1 World Champion and can't clinch the Triple Crown.

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Juan Pablo Montoya will join forces with Hugo de Sadeleer and Will Owen at the wheel of the #32 Ligier JS P217 fielded by United Autosports, a team co-founded by Richard Dean and Zak Brown, the owner of McLaren (competed in 2005 and 2006).
