The new recruit at Ferrari in endurance racing was at Maranello yesterday.
Known for making audacious passes, Kamui Kobayashi is preparing for his debut in GT (GTE Pro), by testing on the Fiorano track alongside Scuderia with Giancarlo Fisichella, Andrea Bertolini, Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander. Next week, he will compete in the Tourist Trophy at Silverstone (WEC), first rehearsal before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Outside the seat of the 458 GTE, the former Sauber F1 driver has absorbed the culture of his new employer ... And what a culture! accompanied by his compatriot Hirohide Hamashima, renowned tyre development engineer, Kobayashi visited the department of sport management, the assembly line, the museum and the home of Enzo Ferrari. After a final pitstop at the Cavallino restaurant, he is ready to carry the weight of history on his shoulders.
