Le Mans Intercontinental Cup - 1000 km from Zhuhai
GT1 class winners in the last 24 Hours of Le Mans, Larbre Competition will travel to China to compete in the final round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
Jack Leconte: "Given the very international dimension of this new series, Larbre Competition had to be there. Its a tradition for us to be present in all the major events of endurance racing. We were there in the mid-90s when the BPR created the revival of the GT and in the Le Mans Series since the 1000km of Le Mans in 2003. We will be present to participate in the first ILMC. "
With four successful Le Mans Series races this year, the team captured the end of the season with great confidence. In addition, they are very familiar with the Zhuhai circuit, since they have already run there in the FIA GT Championship.
The Saleen will be driven by team's usual drivers. "We will call on the drivers that have created this epic of the Saleen and Larbre Competition," said Jack Leconte. "Pedro Lamy and Patrick Bornhauser are already confirmed in the car. Our last visit there was in 2005. We finished second four seconds behind the leader. Pedro Lamy, who then drove the Ferrari 550 Maranello, was in the sand trap in the first lap along with the Aston Martin DBR9 of Christophe Bouchut. Nonetheless, we made a memorable come-back returning from last to 2nd place! This incredible performance had in fact helped win the title by ... half a point. What memories! "
See you in China from 5th to 7th of November 2010 for the 1000 km of Zhuhai.
