With a new victory in LM GT1 for Brazilian Fernando Rees, Gabriele Gardel and Patrice Goueslard have secured the class title ahead of the Le Mans Series race at Silverstone.
Larbre Competition have an enviable track record and are without doubt one of the French motorsport's most successful teams. They were Le Mans Series, champions in 2004 (Ferrari) and 2006 (Aston Martin) and FIA GT Championship winners (2000, 2001, 2002, 2005), add to that some national titles, victories at the 24 Hours of Spa and three class wins at Le Mans in 1993/94 and 2010. Jack Leconte, who has lead the team since its inception in 1988, can be proud of a job well done.
It is a great result for Gabriele Gardel and Patrice Goueslard. The Swiss driver had already been titled in the 2006 LMS, and for Patrice this is the third consecutive title in GT1, the two previous having been obtained in the Corvette of Luc Alphand.
