The first-ever Goodwood SpeedWeek festival set for 16-18 October will combine the best elements of the Festival of Speed, the Goodwood Revival and the Member’s Meeting. Due to the global health crisis, none of these events were able to take place this year and have been moved to 2021. The Goodwood SpeedWeek festival will be held behind closed doors.

Goodwood SpeedWeek will honour the 24 Hours of Le Mans with several remarkable cars from the race. The Porsche WSC-95 winner in 1996 and 1997 will be driven by Tom Kristensen, reuniting with the car he drove for the first of his nine victories at the race. A fleet of Jaguar XJR-9s and XJR-12s will join the party to celebrate the stunning line of cars that brought Martin Brundle, John Nielsen and Price Cobb to victory in 1990, among other feats. A Jaguar E-Type whose elegant and tapered lines allowed it to reach 280 kph at the circuit will be exhibited. On the programme as well is a car with no need for introduction: considered along with the McLaren F1 GTR as a queen of the GT1 class, the legendary Porsche 911 GT1-98. Driven by Allan McNish, Laurent Aiello and Stéphane Ortelli, the car claimed the top step on the podium in 1998. Lastly, a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP will also be showcased.

Drivers from the 24 Hours of Le Mans expected at the Goodwood SpeedWeek festival are André Lotterer (three wins), Romain Dumas (two), Emanuele Pirro (Grand Marshal at the 88th running), Alex Brundle, Alex Lynn, David Brabham (one), Guy Smith (one), Nicolas Minassian and Neel Jani (one).

A celebration of the 50th anniversary of Porsche's first win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is also on the festival's programme.
