Michelin: from the track to the road...and back again (video)

The day before the official tests organized by the IMSA heading into the 12 Hours of Sebring, Michelin's five partners in the GT LM class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the only one open to competition between tire manufacturers, each brought the road and sporting versions of their cars.

Motorsports in general and endurance racing in particular afford automobile manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their sporting models, which is one of the reasons the number of constructors keeps growing in the LM GTE Pro class, called GTLM overseas.

Since an image is worth a thousand words, the five manufacturers involved in GTLM - BMW with the M6, Chevrolet Corvette with the C7.R, Ferrari with the 488 GTE, Ford with the GT and Porsche with the 911 RSR - faced off the road and sporting versions of their respective cars in order to demonstrate their isn't much difference from the road to the track and vice-versa…

Of the five manufacturers present, four will be at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June and the fifth, BMW, will return to Le Mans in 2018.
