Nathanaël Berthon will finally be joining up with Memo Rojas and Julien Canal in the Ligier JS P2 run by Greaves Motorsport. Last week, G-Drive Racing parted company with the driver, halting his preparations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He was replaced by former F1 driver Will Stevens, with Roberto Merhi taking Stevens’ seat at Manor.
At that point, 26-year-old Berthon expected to have to follow the iconic race from the grandstand. Finally, British team Greaves Motorsport have offered him a lifeline. Pole Kuba Giermaziak was originally announced in the Greaves line-up but has given up his place. During Sunday’s Test Day, reigning European Le Mans Series (ELMS) champion Jon Lancaster replaced Giermaziak but, after two appearances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Race Performance and Greaves Motorsport, Lancaster will be missing from the 2016 grid.
