The Morgan Motor Company recently announced a partnership with OAK Racing to run two new 2012 OAK-Pescarolo prototypes at the 24 hours of Le Mans as Morgan LM P2 to be driven by Olivier Pla and Jacques Nicolet. 2012 will be the fiftieth anniversary of their previous Le Mans success and the company want to celebrate this year in style. Apart from Le Mans, another landmark will be the launch of the new Morgan Aero Coupe at the Geneva motor show next month.

Morgan is a cherished name for British enthusiasts, and the heritage of Morgan sports cars is still clear in the contemporary designs of the Malvern based manufacturer. An evolution of the Aeromax, the new car that will debut at next month’s 2012 Geneva motor show is no exception. It is inspired by the GT3 Aero that has enjoyed a number of racing victories. Under the traditional flat-top bonnet lurks a BMW 390bhp 4.8litre V8 that gives the 1180kg stylish all-aluminium chassis a power to weight ratio of about 330bhp/tonne, and the sleek lines give it a top speed of 170mph/273kph. It comes with 6 speed manual or automatic transmission.
