Among the drivers who raced for Nissan, there are five former winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their destinies have regularly crossed in La Sarthe.
Mark Blundell (seven participations, including two with Nissan in 1989 and 1990)
Geoff Brabham (three participations, two with Nissan in 1989 and 1990)
Geoff Brabham and Mark Blundell have two things in common: They booth raced their first 24 hours with Nissan ... and have won in a Peugeot 905. The former in 1992 with Derek Warwick and Yannick Dalmas and the latter in 1993 with Eric Helary and Christophe Bouchut.
Jan Lammers (twenty-two participations, one with Nissan in 1998)
John Nielsen (twenty participations, one with Nissan in 1998)
Martin Brundle (nine appearances, including one with Nissan in 1997)
The Dutch, Danish and British drivers were all involved in the saga of Jaguar Le Mans in the late 80s. It is with the English manufacturer they scored their success in La Sarthe. Jan Lammers won with Johnny Dumfries and Andy Wallace in 1988, while John Nielsen and Martin Brundle won the 24 Hours together in 1990, with the American Price Cobb.
