On October 24, 1260, the Chartres cathedral was completed after 30 years of construction. On June 22, 2013, Chartres native Loïc Duval won at the 24 Hours with Audi, along with three-time winner Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen who won his ninth and final Le Mans victory.

The same year, Duval and his teammates became the World Endurance Champions, on a level with the Chartres cathedral, considered a world champion in its own right - of gothic art - and classified in the UNESCO world heritage since 1979.
