The 2017 Porsche 911 RSR, already seen during testing sessions, will replace the current model released in 2013 which allowed the German manufacturer to triumph almost across the board in 2015 - including winning during its first appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans thanks to Romain Dumas, Marc Lieb (both overall winners this year) and Richard Lietz.
Last year, the Austrian driver won the FIA World Endurance Championship GT Drivers Cup, Porsche won the Constructors Cup and Porsche Team Manthey won the LM GTE Pro Teams Trophy. This success was mirrored in the American championship with the same three titles, Driver (Patrick Pilet), Constructor and Team (Porsche North America).
