Rebellion win confirmed as Toyota renounces appeal of WEC 6 Hours of Silverstone decision

Toyota has decided not to appeal the decision to disqualify both TS050 Hybrids from the WEC 6 hours of Silverstone. Victory for Rebellion Racing is therefore confirmed, meaning the first win for a non-hybrid LMP1 this year.

Toyota’s decision not to appeal the exclusion of the TS050 Hybrids confirms the winners of the third round of the World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Silverstone, as Mathias Beche, Thomas Laurent and Gustavo Menezes with the #3 Rebellion R13 Gibson. Neel Jani and André Lotterer are runners-up in the #1 sister car. In third place, the #17 SMP Racing BR Engineering BR1-AER of Stéphane Sarrazin and Egor Orudzhev.

A crowd of over 60,000 fans watched the race on Sunday. The next round in the championship is the 6 Hours of Fuji, on 14 October 2018.
