24h Le Mans
On November 25, 1892, Pierre de Coubertin delivered a speech at the Sorbonne, starting point of the modern Olympic Games. On June 14, 1969, Jean-Claude Killy, three-time Olympic champion at the Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968, took the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in an official Alpine along with the late Bob Wollek.
Unfortunately, like seven of the eight driver line-ups competing in an Alpine, the duo was forced to retire (shock absorber trouble). In a Porsche with Jean Guichet, Jean-Claude Killy, who only appeared once at the 24 Hours, finished second at the 1,000 km of Monza and third at the 1,000 km of the Nürburgring in GT.
