Today's Photo Story - Mike Rockenfeller, winner with Audi at the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans

On November 21, 1976, Silvester Stallone's iconic movie "Rocky" was released, the first of the star's seven Rocky films. On June 13, 2010, Mike Rockenfeller - nicknamed Rocky - won against all odds the 24 Hours of Le Mans along with Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas in an Audi R15+ TDI.

In 2010, the Peugeot 908s were clearly faster than their Audi counterparts. Alas, the French manufacturer lost, one after the other, its four cars (three official and one private entered by Oreca). The German tortoise beat the French hare in this case. Yet, not entirely: the Franco-German trio did beat the distance record, held since 1971, with 5,410.713 km covered. And the record still holds today…
