Tour of the City Centre: a warm-up ahead of the 24 Hours
For the third consecutive year following Scrutineering, 19 cars across every marque in this year's 24 Hours took over the Le Mans city centre, namely Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota. Thousands of fans came out to witness the breathtaking cars snake through the streets past shops, banks, restaurants and under balconies to the foot of the town's famous cathedral.
In the photo below is Iron Lynx's #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 with the Saint-Julien Catheral in the background. The German constructor made its return to the 24 Hours in the LMGT3 category after a 26-year absence.
62 cars on the starting grid
Tradition dictates that on the Tuesday before the big race, all the cars pose for a class photo on the pit straight. At the 93rd running, the field included: 21 Hypercars, 17 LMP2s and 24 LMGT3s. Thanks to the presence of Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota, Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) are both experiencing a golden age.

The drivers also got their class photo, behind the official trophy and joined by Automobile Club de l'Ouest President Pierre Fillon and FIA WEC CEO Frédéric Lequien. A total 186 drivers had the honour of taking on the legendary 24 Hours this year, including 36 rookies. Thirty-four nationalities were represented and five female drivers took the start in the race: Jamie Chadwick, Célia Martin, Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy and Lilou Wadoux.
Euphoria for Alex Lynn and Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA
Alex Lynn in Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA's #12 Cadillac V-Series.R gave the American carmaker its first Hyperpole ever with a time of 3:23.166. With the 3:23.33 clocked by Earl Bamber, Cadillac monopolised the first row on the starting grid this year.
A first for Roger Federer
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest named Roger Federer as the official starter this year. Considered one of the greatest tennis superstars of all time, he earned 20 Grand Chelem® titles and topped the world tennis classification for 310 weeks with a playing style that has fascinated entire generations of fans. But beyond his performances, he embodies elegance, integrity and high standards, all values reflected and upheld at Le Mans.
Roger Federer: It was a real honour to give the start at the 93rd running. There was a tense energy in the air at that precise moment. I was struck by the sheer scale of what Le Mans represents.
Fast Pace from the OUtset
The moment Federer gave the start, Hertz Team JOTA's two Cadillac V-Series.Rs set the pace against their rivals. However, in quick fashion after taking off third, Julien Andlauer in the #5 Porsche 963 overtook the two American cars and went on to carve out a gap of more than 10 seconds thanks to super fast laps.
Ferrari and Porsche neck and neck
Just prior to 20:00, AF Corse's #83 Ferrari 499P snatched the lead ahead of Porsche Penske Motorport's #6 Porsche 963 and Ferrari-AF Corse's #51 Ferrari. The duel Ferrari-Porsche became one of the main storylines of the 2025 24 Hours, and this photo of the leading trio, wheel-to-wheel between the Mulsanne and Indianapolis Corners, perfectly captures the intensity of the race.
Greatest show on earth
At midnight, all eyes turned from the track to the skies. The 24 Hours of Le Mans Show, with this year's theme 24H On Board, delivered a jawdropping 20-minute visual feast including magical fireworks, a mesmerising drone show and stunning laser displays. Meanwhile, the drivers (undistracted by this spectacle) pushed their limits around the circuit and continued their quest for victory.
Ferrari triumphs once again
After 24 hours of racing and 387 laps, AF Corse's #83 Ferrari 499P shared by Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson won the 93rd running of Le Mans. The last win by a private team supported by a top marque dated back to 2005 with Champion Racing's Audi R8. Kubica became the first Polish driver to triumph at the race and Ye the first Chinese. Ferrari had secured a third victory in a row and its 12th at Le Mans.
And let us not forget the wins for Inter Europol Competition in LMP2 and for Team Manthey 1ST Phorm's #92 Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 in LMGT3!
