In 2009, Patrick Dempsey, better known in France as Dr. Shepherd in "Grey's Anatomy", participated for the first time in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Like other Hollywood stars before him (including Paul Newman in 1979), he has been the subject of considerable media and spectator attention. On that occasion, he teamed up with Joe Foster and Don Kitch Jr. His driving experience dates back to 2007 where he participated in several events of the American Grand Am series, and he quickly showed himself to be at home on 13 km of Le Mans circuit. At the finish of a race with many changes of fortune, the crew of the Ferrari F430 GTC finished the race in ninth place in the GT2 class.
Since then, Patrick Dempsey has also become a team owner, and in 2012 he participated in the American Le Mans Series, which he raced several events driving a Lola LMP2 prototype. This year, Patrick Dempsey will drive a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with Joe Foster and Patrick Long. Entered in LM GTE Am, the crew were at the Le Mans circuit for the traditional test day. For his comeback Patrick Dempsey can be proud of the work done by his team since after the two driving sessions, the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR # 77 ranked third in class, three seconds off the Aston Martin V8 Vantage No.95.
