WEC and Le Mans - Why Toyota prefers hybrid technology (video)

Since its return to endurance racing in 2012, Toyota has used hybrid technology, compliant with the LM P1 technical regulations, which allowed it to win the World Endurance Manufacturers Champion title in 2014. This year, the Japanese marque is entering two modified version TS050 HYBRIDs in the championship and three at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The gap between racing cars and their series counterparts is becoming smaller and smaller thanks to the technical regulations drawn up by the regulatory bodies. Endurance racing is no exception, which is why Toyota, worldwide leader in hybrid road cars, is heavily involved in the discipline. What is Toyota going after? Victory? Yes but that's not all...
