As the curtain came down on the season, Loïc Duval, Lucas Di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis took victory in the #8 Audi R18 with Audi demonstrating true mastery of its art, achieving a formidable 1-2 to bring its endurance venture to a close. There were celebrations at Porsche too, where Romain Dumas, Marc Lieb and Neel Jani scooped the WEC Drivers’ trophy, to add to the Manufacturers’ title the German marque earned in Shanghai.
In the LM P2 class, there was a win for the #26 Oreca 05 Nissan G-Drive Racing driven by Roman Rusinov, René Rast and Alex Brundle. Signatech Alpine and its drivers had already bagged both the FIA Endurance Trophy for LM P2 teams and the Drivers’ title in Shanghai.
The #95 Aston Martin Vantage raced by Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen reigned supreme in the LM GTE Pro class. Its drivers clinched the FIA World Endurance Cup for GT Drivers and Aston Martin came away with the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGTE Pro Teams. As for the World Endurance Cup for GT Manufacturers, it went to Ferarri.
In LM GTE Am, the #88 Porsche 911 RSR (Abu Dhabi Proton Racing) driven by Patrick Long, Khaled Al Qubaisi and David Heinemeier Hansson triumphed at the 6 Hours of Bahrain. However, Emmanuel Collard, Rui Aguas and François Perrodo (#83 Ferrari F458 Italia AF Corse) won the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGTE Am Drivers while AF Corse took the team trophy in this class.
