All in all, the 6 Hours of Fuji proved a great race, with plenty of wrangling for position and nail-biting suspense. In the end, Stéphane Sarrazin, Kamui Kobayashi and Mike Conway took the #6 Toyota TS050 Hybrid to victory ahead of the #8 Audi R18 and #1 Porsche Hybrid.
The three-way tussle for the lead between Toyota, Audi and Porsche made for excellent spectator entertainment at the WEC 6 Hours of Fuji this weekend.
Roman Rusinov, Alex Brundle and Will Stevens took their first victory in the #26 Oreca 05 Nissan for G-Drive Racing in the LM P2 class. The Oreca has often led the pack this season, but was yet to win a race.
In LM GTE Pro, the Ford GTs were head and shoulders above the rest, right from the qualifiers. The class winner was the #67, driven by Andy Priaulx and Harry Tincknel, taking Ford’s first victory in a 6-hour race in the World Endurance Championship so far. In LM GTE Am, Aston Martin took a second successive win, thanks to Mathias Lauda, Paul Dalla Lana and Pedro Lamy in the #98.
The 8th round of the WEC will be in Shanghai on Sunday 6 November.
