24 Hours of Le Mans 2017 - Driver line-up finalized for Algarve Pro Racing's Ligier LM P2

The Algarve Pro Racing team has announced the driver line-up set to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in its Ligier JS P217 on June 17th and 18th. Vincent Capillaire and Mark Patterson, who had already been confirmed, will be joined by Matt McMurry, the youngest driver ever to take the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2014).

The Algarve Pro Racing team, 12th in LM P2 at Le Mans in 2016, earned an automatic invitation to the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans when it won the LM P2 title in the 2016/2017 Asian Le Mans Series season. It will enter a Ligier JS P217 compliant with the new techical regulations in effect as of the first of this year.

Supported by the SO24! assocation whose objective is to help Le Mans area drivers reach the top of their discipline, Vincent Capillaire will be at the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the fourth time this June thanks to a partnership between the association and Portuguese team Algarve Pro Racing.

He will be joined by veteran (65 years of age) Mark Patterson, who has participated four times in LM P2 and LM GTE Am at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and young driver Matt McMurry (19), the youngest driver in history to take the start and cross the finish line (2014), already in the LM P2 class. McMurry's participation is no surprise since he will share the wheel of the Ligier JS P217 in the European Le Mans Series with Andrea Pizzitola and Andrea Roda.
