24 Hours of Le Mans – LMP1 poleman reactions

Kamui Kobayashi shares his thoughts after scoring pole position in LMP2 for the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

"I'm disappointed! After two years and the developments on the car, there should have been improvement. Perhaps track conditions were better in 2017. A second is a lot. Unfortunately, I tried but it wasn't enough today. But still, I think great job from the team after yesterday's accident with Mike. We needed to change out the chassis overnight, so I think we'd just finished the car five minutes before the start of the Q2 session. I think if we'd been like 10 minutes later, I could not have achieved this lap time because of the traffic. So the team did a really great job overnight and I think it was hard. I would say everyone expected a better lap time, and even myself I tried to prepare everything for qualifying. We know we can make it, the car is definitely quicker but track conditions and win direction affected things. And we had to wait six, seven minutes in pit lane which is a shame. I think this is going to be a close fight."
