The race was declared a "wet race" due to a preliminary downpour during the starting procedure but no drops fell during the race itself. After an unexpected start for the No. 27 Ferrari which wasn't good, after three laps, the No. 1 Ligier JS P3 (LM P3 class) came out of turn 1 and took off again. Team AAI's No. 92 BMW Z4 GT3 did the same in turn 6 since Absolute Racing's No. 5 Audi made a mistake in turn 7 and ended up in the gravel, causing the intervention of the 4X4 to extract it before returning to the pits. After the first hour, the top 5 was as follows: the two Oreca 05s in the lead (Race Performance's No. 8 and Eurasia Motorsport's No. 99), Algarve Pro Racing's Ligier JS P2 (No. 25), the No. 3 McLaren 650S GT3 and the No. 1 Ligier JS P3.
After an hour and 15 minutes, KCMG's Porsche GT3 Cup (No. 51) returned to its pit, while the Ligier JS P3 slowed and the No. 3 spun in turn 14. After two hours of racing, while the No. 51 refuelled and changed drivers, the top 3 remained unchanged at the end of the second hour (8-99-25). After two hours and six minutes of racing, the No. 69 Wolf (CN class) refuelled then flubbed turn 4 and started again. After two hours and 23 minutes of racing, Nexus Infinity's No. 27 Ferrari incurred a one minute "drive through" for too many mechanics during a refuelling. The race ended in a second consecutive win for Race Performance, with at the wheel Nicolas Leutwiler and Shinji Nakano.
The take-aways of this second 2015-2016 season race were the successful domination of the LM P2 prototypes (with on the overall podium Race Performance's Oreca, Algarve Pro Racing's Ligier and the other Oreca of Eurasia Motorsport), renewed performance for the McLaren 650s in fourth place, as well as just reward for Team AAI, fifth with its BMW Z4 with one LM P3 not taking the start of the other bringing up the rear.
The third round of the 2015-2016 Asian Le Mans Series will take place in Buriram, Thailand on January, 10 2016.
