Two weeks ago, the Lola-Mazda of Dyson Racing monopolized the first row and then won the race on home turf at Lime Rock (Connecticut). But the other Lola coupe of Team CytoSport / Muscle Milk AMR, powered by Aston Martin did not let his opponent escape in the standings of the American Le Mans Series 2011.
Klaus Graf took pole position for the fourth round of ALMS in 2011, ahead of the two Dyson Racing cars, despite going off at the end of the practice session. Klaus Graf: “The morning incident created a lot of work for the Muscle Milk team, but the pole is credit to them. It was mainly bodywork and some suspension. It’s a big boy track, you need to be brave to drive really fast. You also need a really good setup.”
In GT, the BMW M3 run by Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan continued their domination with the two fastest times in the category. Müller / Hand and Auberlen / Werner ahead of the Porsche of Bergmeister / Long (Flying Lizard Motorsports), the Ferrari 458 Italia of Sharp / van Overbeek (Extreme Speed Motorsports) and Melo / Vilander (Risi Competizione), and the factory Corvette of Gavin / Magnussen. Dirk Müller: “I'm really pleased. They say it's a 'mans track' and I'm on pole so I get to consider myself a man. The class is so close, I'm happy we got everything together.”
