The German manufacturer hit the track and dropped its times, Toyota wasn't far behind and TDS Racing dominated the LM P2 class.
Though the rain finally dried up at the Italian circuit, the sun has yet to emerge over the autodrome at Monza.
Like the evening before, the #1 Porsche driven by Jani-Lotterer-Tandy proved fastest this morning with a time of 1'32.020 clocked by the Swiss driver. The sister car of Bernhard-Hartley-Bamber only lagged by four hundredths and settled in second position. The Toyotas driven by Lapierre-Nakajima-Davidson and Kunimoto-Conway-Kobayashi followed at four and six hundredths, respectively. Both Porsche and Toyota wanted to take advantage of the dry track to do their laps and once again the German manufacturer came out on top, racking up more than 640 km with the #2 driven by Bernhard-Hartley-Bamber and 582 km with the #1.
No non-hybrid LM P1s hit the track since the ByKOLLES garage remained closed. In the end, the CLM P1/01 was only able to do six laps this weekend.
In the LM P2 class, the Oreca-Gibson 07 driven by Perrodo-Vaxivière-Collard entered by TDS Racing took the lead with a time of 1'36.078, beautifully clocked by Vaxivière. Their G-Drive Racing teammates Martin-Rusinov-Thiriet weren't far behind, then Vaillante Rebellion (#13), Jackie Chan DC Racing (#37) and the two Alpine A470s.
Nothing new to report in the LM GTE Pro class since the official 911 RSRs continued to monopolize the top of the timesheets, Estre-Christensen ahead of the other Porsche driven by Makowiecki-Lietz. The Fords of Tincknell-Priaulx and Pla-Mücke followed. The four cars are all within three tenths, followed by the Ferrari 488 GTEs and the two Aston Martin Vantage GTEs.
Lastly, in the LM GTE Am class, Ferrari returned to form thanks to Castellacci-Flohr-Molina finishing ahead of Gulf Racing UK's Porsche 911 RSR driven by Wainwright-Barker-Foster, followed by the Aston Martin Vantage GTE.
The final session will take place this afternoon.
