24 Hours of Le Mans – Risi Competizione (LMGTE Pro)

This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans sees a record number of entrants on the grid. We take a look at the 43 teams behind the 62 cars in the field. Here we give you the lowdown on LMGTE Pro team Risi Competizione.

Team: Risi Competizione

Class: LMGTE Pro

Car and Drivers:

#89 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO

  • Pipo Derani (5th participation)
  • Oliver Jarvis (8th participation, LMP2 winner in 2017)
  • Jules Gounon (rookie)

Team Achievements:

Long loyal to Ferrari and currently its importer in Houston, in 1998 Giuseppe Risi gave Ferrari its last class win in prototypes (LMP1 winner and eighth overall) with the 333 SP (under the name Doyle/Risi). With Risi Competizione he scored two more victories in the LMGT2 class in 2008 and 2009 with the F430.

Team Goals at the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans:

After handing at the 2018 24 Hours the running of Keating Motorsports' Ferrari 488, third in LMGTE Am, Risi Competizione returned to the LMGTE Pro class with a driver line-up that melded youth, speed and experience, capable of aiming for the podium and even the win. It was welcome support for Ferrari, whose two 488s fielded by AF Corse were taking on the Porsche and Ford armadas.
